Ghost hunts in Wigan
Wigan’s industrial heritage, civic buildings and powerful local stories make the town a natural setting for after-dark events. DeadLive brings controlled, team-led paranormal investigations to historic locations across the North West and beyond, with a confirmed Wigan date now available to book.
Museum of Wigan Life Ghost Hunt
Saturday 17 October 2026
Guest arrival from 8.30pm. Investigation approximately 9.00pm to 12.45am. Building vacated by 1.00am.
Tickets £29. Over 18s only.
The museum occupies Wigan’s first public library, designed by Alfred Waterhouse and opened in 1878. George Orwell researched The Road to Wigan Pier in the building’s upstairs reference library in 1936. The investigation will use only the areas approved by the venue.
Small-group investigation
Guests are divided into manageable groups so everyone can take part in vigils, experiments and equipment sessions.
Team led and controlled
The DeadLive team manages registration, the safety briefing, group movements and the full investigation programme.
No actors or staged scares
This is a genuine paranormal investigation. Activity can never be guaranteed, and nothing is manufactured for effect.
Why investigate the Museum of Wigan Life?
The building is part of Wigan’s civic and cultural history. Its Waterhouse architecture, former library spaces and associations with generations of local visitors give the investigation a sense of place that cannot be recreated in a modern venue.
DeadLive’s event combines the history of the building with structured paranormal investigation. It is suitable for returning investigators and first-time guests who want a well-managed introduction to ghost hunting.
More Wigan venues
DeadLive is exploring further historic, civic and unusual locations across Wigan. These future venues are not yet confirmed, but the Wigan waiting list gives guests first notice when a new location or date is released.
