If you have never attended a DeadLive event, you may be wondering what actually happens during the night. Every venue is different, but the purpose stays the same: to give guests a genuine opportunity to take part in a paranormal investigation.

Arriving and meeting the team
Your event page will show the arrival and finishing times for the night. At Chirk Parish Hall, guests arrive at 8:15pm, the event starts at 8:30pm and finishes at 1:30am.
When you arrive, the DeadLive team will welcome the group and explain how the evening will run. This gives everyone the same information before the investigation begins and provides time for important safety guidance.
The safety briefing
A paranormal event often takes place in low light, so listening to the safety briefing is important. The team will explain how to move around the venue, what to do during each session and any rules that apply to the night.
Guests should wear sensible footwear and bring a torch. Warm clothing is also recommended for a late-night investigation. Alcohol is not permitted.
Investigation sessions
The evening is divided into investigation sessions. The team will introduce different approaches and explain how the equipment or experiment is intended to be used. You do not need previous experience because guidance is provided as the night progresses.
You may spend part of a session watching and listening quietly. At other times, you may be invited to ask questions, take part in an experiment or help observe any response. The aim is not to tell you what to believe. It is to create the conditions for careful observation and let you reach your own conclusions.
Using ghost hunting equipment
Equipment can help investigators monitor or record changes during a session. The important part is not simply that a device reacts, but how the group considers possible causes and looks at what else was happening at the time.
Traditional investigation methods can also be useful because they encourage the group to slow down, listen and notice the surroundings. DeadLive events combine participation with time to observe rather than treating every sound or movement as proof of paranormal activity.
Will something paranormal happen?
Paranormal activity cannot be guaranteed. No honest investigation can promise a particular result. Some nights may feel active while others are quieter, and different guests can interpret the same moment in different ways.
The experience comes from investigating a venue after dark, working with the team and other guests, and deciding what you think about anything unusual that happens.
