DeadLive Preparing Ghost Hunts at Earlston House
DeadLive is preparing to introduce ghost hunts at Earlston House, adding another historic venue to our growing programme of paranormal investigations across the North West.
Situated within the Wallasey Central Library complex, Earlston House is one of the Wirral’s oldest surviving historic buildings. Its fascinating history, distinctive architecture and long-standing reputation for unexplained activity make it an exciting addition to the DeadLive events calendar. While event dates are still being finalised, work is already underway behind the scenes to prepare the venue for future investigations.
A Building Full of History
The history of Earlston House stretches back centuries. Originally associated with the former Liscard Manor and later known as Rose Mount, the building eventually became Earlston House during the Victorian period before being incorporated into Wallasey Central Library when the Carnegie Library was constructed in 1911.
Today the building remains Grade II listed, preserving an important part of Wallasey’s architectural and social history. Visitors continue to admire its impressive stonework, historic rooms and unique character, making it one of the most recognisable buildings in the area.
Local Stories and Paranormal Reputation
Alongside its historical importance, Earlston House has become well known for local stories describing unexplained activity.
Reports collected over many years include unexplained footsteps, strange noises, doors moving without explanation and sightings of shadowy figures. Stories surrounding a former librarian, caretaker and groundskeeper have all contributed to the building’s reputation as one of the Wirral’s most intriguing locations for paranormal investigation. These accounts remain part of local folklore and are not presented as established historical fact.

Our investigations will combine the building’s fascinating history with professionally hosted paranormal investigation techniques.
Guests will explore selected areas of the venue in small supervised groups while learning about the people who lived and worked within Earlston House over the centuries. Every investigation is designed to be suitable for both newcomers and experienced paranormal enthusiasts, with guidance provided throughout the evening by the DeadLive team.
As with every DeadLive event, guest safety, respect for the venue and responsible investigation remain our highest priorities. Events will operate under approved safety procedures and agreed access arrangements with the venue.

Although public event dates have not yet been announced, Earlston House is expected to become one of the newest additions to the DeadLive venue collection.
