A New Paranormal Investigation on the Wirral
DeadLive Ltd will hold its first ghost hunt at the Royal Mersey Yacht Club on Saturday 12 September 2026.
Located in Rock Ferry, Birkenhead, the club offers an unusual combination of maritime history, royal connections and atmospheric period rooms overlooking the River Mersey.
The Royal Mersey Yacht Club was established in 1844. Queen Victoria became its first patron, and the club received its Royal Warrant later that year. The present clubhouse occupies historic buildings on Bedford Road East and has been the club’s home since 1901.
The clubhouse itself is Grade II listed. Historic England describes it as a pair of houses dating from around 1840, built in brick with stone details and a Welsh slate roof.
What Might Remain Within the Clubhouse?
A building with such a long maritime and social history naturally creates questions.
Generations of sailors, members, guests and visitors have passed through the club. Its rooms contain reminders of racing, royal visits, formal gatherings and life on the Mersey.
This first DeadLive investigation will allow guests to explore the atmosphere of the clubhouse after dark and test whether any unexplained activity can be recorded.
