Investigate Royal Mersey Yacht Club After Dark
A rare paranormal investigation is coming to Birkenhead as DeadLive opens the doors of the historic Royal Mersey Yacht Club after dark.
On Saturday 12 September 2026, guests will have the opportunity to explore this distinctive waterfront venue during a five-hour Royal Mersey Yacht Club ghost hunt.
The investigation will run from 9pm until 2am, with tickets priced at £25 per person.
A Historic Birkenhead Venue
The Royal Mersey Yacht Club has a long connection with the River Mersey and received its Royal Charter in 1844.
During the day, the clubhouse is associated with sailing, social gatherings and generations of members. Once the building becomes quiet and the doors close for the night, however, the atmosphere changes completely.
Empty rooms, unfamiliar sounds and views across the darkened boatyard create an unusual setting for a paranormal investigation.
This is a rare opportunity to enter the club after normal hours and experience the building from a completely different perspective.
What Happens During the Ghost Hunt?
The evening will begin with registration, introductions and a full safety briefing.
Guests will then be divided into small groups and guided through different areas of the venue by experienced DeadLive team members.
The investigation may include:
- EVP and audio-recording experiments
- Spirit-box communication sessions
- EMF and environmental monitoring
- Traditional vigils
- Dowsing experiments
- Quiet observation periods
- Small-group communication sessions
Paranormal equipment will be available throughout the evening. Guests are also welcome to bring their own cameras, audio recorders or handheld investigation equipment.
No previous ghost-hunting experience is required. The team will explain how the equipment works and support each group throughout the night.
A Genuine Paranormal Investigation
This is not a staged attraction, and there will be no actors, manufactured scares or fake paranormal activity.
DeadLive never guarantees that ghosts will appear or tells guests what they must believe. The purpose of the night is to investigate the building carefully, document anything unusual and allow everyone to reach their own conclusions.
The Royal Mersey Yacht Club offers something very different from a traditional haunted house or former institution. Its riverside setting, maritime history and private clubhouse atmosphere make it one of the most unusual venues on the DeadLive calendar.
